Medical Director Assures Mother of quadruplet Total Support.

The Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta,Dr. Sarah Titilola Ibiyemi has pledged total moral, medical, and financial support to Mrs. Mufiat Olateju, who was recently given birth to a set of quadruplets at the hospital.

Dr. Sarah Titilola Ibiyemi gave the assurance today at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology ward when she went to check on the mother, Mrs. Mufiat Olateju, in the company of the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Aminat Durodola and Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Abosede Fagoyinbo.

Acting on the instructions of the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako as well as the board Chairman, Dr. Dayo Israel. She said beyond financial assistance to the family needed to take care of the hospital needs, the management will provide counseling on family planning and responsible reproductive health which will help the couple manage their growing family and also prevent future pregnancies.

The  Honourable Minister commended the hospital management team for the prompt intervention and also pledged to assist the family at this critical period.

The medical director and her team also visited the babies at the Neo-natal unit of the hospital. Both children and mother are in stable condition.

The mother, Mrs. Mufiat Olateju ,who according to report was not originally booked with Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta but was rushed as a result of referral during delivery to the centre in order to save the lives of the mother and the babies. She had 

However, the  doctor who conducted the babies delivery, Dr. Akera, assisted by Dr Badamasi and Dr Bankole, said  the quadruplets are in a stable condition.

On their part, the parents Mr Oluwaseun and Mrs. Mufiat Olateju from Atan in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, expressed gratitude for the care being given to both mother and babies while appealing to well-meaning Nigerians for support as they adjust to the responsibility of caring for the quadruplets alongside their other children.
