MWAN Ogun State Pays Courtesy Visit to the first Female Medical Director, FMCA

The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Ogun State Branch, paid a courtesy visit to the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Dr. Titilola Sarah Ibiyemi, to congratulate and celebrate her leadership.
Speaking during the visit, the President of MWAN, Ogun State Branch, Dr. Osisanwo Deborah, described the Medical Director as a goal-oriented and resilient woman with passion for the growth and advancement of women in medicine. She noted that the association was proud of her achievements and assured her of the support of female medical practitioners.
As part of the visit, the association presented the Medical Director with a branded MWAN mug as a symbolic gesture of appreciation, goodwill, and support.
In her response, the Medical Director appreciated the association for the visit, describing it as significant and encouraging. She thanked them for their goodwill, support, and prayers, while reaffirming her commitment to advancing excellence and inclusiveness in healthcare leadership.
The Medical director also emphasized the need for women to support one another, stating that she is here for women to encourage and uplift themselves rather than compete or pull one another down. She stressed that solidarity among women remained important for progress and success in leadership and professional spaces.
In her closing remark, the MWAN President highlighted the need for mentorship among female doctors to better equip and strengthen them professionally. She further proposed a future get-together involving retired and current MWAN members to foster stronger bonds, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, adding that the association would seek the Medical Director’s support for the initiative in due course.
