Dr. Olaide O. Oke (MBBS, MPH, FMCP) is a consultant Dermatologist (Special Grade II) AT THE Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.
She had her primary education at Alagbaka Estate Primary School, Akure, Ondo State from 1983 to 1988 and her secondary school education at Federal Government Girls’ College, Potiskum. Yobe State from 1989 to 1994. She then proceeded to the University of Ibadan from 1995 to 2002 where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and surgery (MBBS). Her residency training was at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital and she became a member of the West African College of Physicians and a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2009 and 2012 respectively. In 2017, she bagged a Masters’ degree in Public health from University of Roehampton, London. Additional certificate include WHO management of Pain, Leadership and Management in Health and Clinical Management of HIV.
Dr. Oke established the Dermatology Unit at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta in May, 2013. This consultant-led service receives referrals from all areas of Ogun State and neighbouring states, with a population of 3.7million and its environs. She has trained 2 specialists (dermatology and infectious diseases) and currently training a senior resident in dermatology.
Dr. Oke has held many administrative positions, published articles and is a member of societies such as West African College of Physicians, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Nigeria Medical Association, Nigerian Association of Dermatologists and The International Society of Dermatologists. She is the chairman SouthWest National Association of Dermatologists and an examiner in faculty of Internal Medicine, National Post-Graduate Medical College.
She is currently the Head of Department, Internal Medicine, a position she assumed in January, 2022.
